Sharing Adult Film History

The Adult Film History Project (AFHP) is a crowd-sourced, online repository of adult film-related materials that was created to start the slow process of digitally gathering and preserving the history of an industry. This repository does not include adult films; rather, this is about the materials around adult film history–the magazines, newsletters, marketing materials, and other ephemera that can help scholars and historians dig out, organize, and write the valuable histories of these industries.

Read more about the AFHP and why it was created.

We invite you to contribute your own collection, however small it may be, to the archive.

It’s easy!

1 – Scan your item or prepare your digital file. We have instructions here.

2 – Enter some data into our database about your item. That will help make searching even easier.

3 – Upload the file at the Internet Archive, using the “upload” icon on the right side of the screen. Tag the upload with “Adult Film History Project” to make sure it’s part of the AFHP collection.

That’s it!

You can see examples of uploaded files here.
